Fusionfall

Cartoon Network

Overview

Fusionfall was Cartoon Network’s first MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game). It allowed players to control customized characters, visit areas based on Cartoon Network shows, and defeat enemies to level up character clothing and weapon upgrades.

This project was my first in-depth experience in designing UI for a game. This project taught me so much from editing a style guide, working in sprints, and using wireframes to build the final UI.

Game Plot

Under the control of Lord Fuse, Planet Fusion travels through the universe. He is destroying planets by devouring them, and Earth becomes the next target. To do so, he drops Fusion Matter that takes a warped monster-like shape of objects nearby. The goal is to prevent the enemies' plan and defeat them.

Equipment Menu

This space is dedicated to players to view and edit their character and equipment. Players can manage their loadout and view stats for items they have in the inventory.

Nano Menu

Nanos provided the player with special abilities for a short time. This menu allowed players to view, equip, and track the progress of their nano collection.

Missions Screens

Missions were given to players throughout the world by Cartoon Network show characters. These missions, once complete, award users with prizes and XP to level up. Interacting with a mission giver reveals this menu that allows players to accept, cancel, and keep track of progress.

Vendor Menu

The vendor menu is another type of inventory management system. A player can buy and sell items as well as view stats for an item that interests them. Players can also preview select items from this menu.

Trading Menu

Players can trade items and credits with other players throughout the game. These screens show several examples of trading between players.

Settings Menu

Even though the settings menu is not the star of the game, it was a lot of fun to put together for me. Using past gaming experience helped me finalize the design for these screens.
